Our Platform

We would be honored to earn your vote for SA President and Vice President. We believe that our combined leadership experience makes us the right choice to lead the SA in 2011-2012. Freshman year, both Bradley and Rohini began implementing change on our campus. Bradley has overseen multiple large projects including URWireless expansion and Transportation, serving two terms as Senator, Chair of Projects & Services for two years, SA Webmaster, and Chair of the Campus Activities Board. Rohini is also a two-term Senator, Sophomore Committee representative, and Steering Committee Senator. We have three main goals:

Empowering students

Rochester is unique in its number of students who take on active roles in a wide variety of initiatives. From creating the biodiesel that powers campus busses, to overseeing operations of a fraternity house, and from lab research to fighting genocide; student projects are varied and complex. Yet, without faculty support, these initiatives cannot become realities. With proper support, we would be able to accomplish so much more. Firstly, we hope to create a base of faculty support for students to see their ideas through. Promoting entrepreneurial success of student ideas is a priority. Secondly, we plan to implement a communications system that recognizes students’ success both on campus and nationally. Increasing “the buzz” about cool initiatives in an efficient way promotes collaboration and ensures better overall success. Our goal is two-fold, though. It has recently become clear that diversity of thought is not present enough in student government; through reaching out personally, we hope to change that.

Enabling access to information

Transparency of policy, finances, and decision-making is a fundamental building block of trust from the student body. Part of the SA President’s job is to hold decision-makers accountable; we plan to meet with senior University administrators regularly to discuss finances and policy changes. For example, increased training for Security, accompanied by policy adjustments (such as a clear “Good Samaritan” clause) would make our campus safer. We would also create a website that coherently publishes policies that affect students and explanations of why these polices were enacted. We acknowledge that efficiency is a critical part of accessibility. Through developing centralized web platform for policies and forms, we can drastically improve efficiency while relieving all too common headaches.

Developing the campus

Next year promises to be an active year for developing change. We have been a part of discussions about renovations to Hillside, Danforth, Spurrier, the Warner School, Mt. Hope Properties, and more, all year, and can confidently continue next year. Promoting wellness and a healthy lifestyle, along with increases in technology, are two areas of development that will directly impact and improve student life on campus.

While our platform may be broader than most, it allows us the flexibility to best serve you in all that comes up throughout the year. We encourage you to look at our more specific plans at http://www.bradleyandrohini.com/. Experience you can trust, and initiatives that matter: Vote Bradley and Rohini, SA President and Vice President.

You want people that you trust to be making the critical decisions, and these candidates have a serious, but friendly, approach to student politics. - Campus Times
